So a few quizzical emails and texts followed my post yesterday regarding the concept of feeling now what you want to feel from where you want to be, to help you get there. So I will try to elaborate more today.
It is surprisingly easy to feel the way you’ll feel when you get what you want, by asking yourself two simple questions.
Question 1 - what do you want?
From life? From the meeting you are going to? From going to the gym tonight? Whatever it is, be specific, and as long as it obeys the basic laws of the universe (gravity, speed of light being a constant etc), then you can’t go far wrong. Leave time travel aspirations until you are more comfortable with the process.
Question 2 - how will you know when you’ve got it?
What does “it” look, feel, sound, smell like? The more senses that you can attach to your mental representation of this future moment, the more real and attractive achieving “it” will become. Once you are inside this experience and loving it, turn it up a couple of notches - make the colours brighter, the sounds more exciting, the feelings and smells and sensations even more alluring. Because here’s the cool bit - the mind can’t differentiate between what you are experiencing in “reality” and what you are experiencing through a vivid imagination! How great is that??
So if your goal is a long-term one, can you appreciate how regularly revisiting the sensations you will get when you reach your goal will make you more and more attracted to the achievement of that goal - so you can feel that way all of the time?
Now one more thing - be sure that what you want is stated in the positive, because you will get more of what you want, as your mind abhors a vacuum and can’t focus on “not” having something - ie “not being skint” or “not being fat” will have you focusing on no money and being overweight, hence you will get more of them. So focus on “having enough money to….” or “being slim and healthy” and experience those sensations.
Enough of the lecture today. I hope you found it useful, it certainly helps me remember the course, regurgitating it all out to you ![]()
