It seems that Leicestershire is at the forefront of female exploitation this month with the opening of Bubbles n Babes in Burbage, about 12 miles from where we live.
Situated on a small industrial estate, Bubbles n Babes offer bikini and topless car wash services for £30 and £40 respectively. The moral uproar in the fairly well to do village has resulted in a wave of publicity and queues around the block.
It is operated within a building on the estate which means there has not been a change of use in the eyes of local planners. Apparently the sign on the door reads “Honk if you are dirty”, honk, and the door opens. Sweet.
The parish and borough councils have received several complaints and police are keeping an eye on the business but say there is nothing more they can do.
The female employees earn £50 pounds a day plus tips and will become partners in the business if it takes off, with two more sites due to open in Derby and Nottingham.
I guess it will do well, all a bit seedy and sad though. That’ll be me getting old.
