Spam spam spam spam, spammity spaaam, spammity spam!Well apologies for the site going AWOL yesterday, but it would appear that some loser spammer hacked my account and sent millions of spam emails, causing my host to be less than happy with me, like it’s my fault. It just goes to show you - buy cheap hosting and you get cheap customer service. After all my site is not exactly a hotbed of adverts for viagra now is it?

Spam is big business and wastes an awful lot of time and money, but I guess it isn’t going away. Even so I can’t believe that spammers can actually make that much money. I mean if you have to go to the extent of hacking someone’s account just to send the emails, which takes precious time, and then expect a 0.001% return (or something similar) on emails sent, then you have to either be making a big profit on each item you sell, or you are a fool.

Sadly it is probably the latter.

007 Casino Royale PosterGeeks are happy this weekend with the leaking on to the interweb of the rough trailer to 007’s next outing, Casino Royale, starring Daniel Craig.

Trailer (which can be found here until it’s taken down) starts in black and white, and then jumps in to colour with the appearance of the Bond “barrel”. Whilst I still remain a big fan of Pierce Brosnan and resent him being replaced, the trailer does look good, and I must say that it makes me want to go and see it. I must reread the book (which was the first Bond novel by Ian Fleming), as I’ve heard that the movie does to some extent follow the plot of the book.

Found this neat cartoon that reinforces my blog from earlier.

Found this over at Life Coaches’ Blog, nip over and take a look, lots of interesting info about NLP, life coaching etc.
We can all fly as high as the dreams we dare to live

Just a quick note to say that if you find the whole blogging thing interesting (and you must if you are looking here, either that or you are after bikini pics of Ellie Chidzey), then head over to Blogger’s Haven for a neat system, no adverts and friendly people :)

Hmm strange one this. Good ol’ Bill Shatner seems to do some pretty wierd stuff (like being sued by ex wife over horse semen), but starting his own DVD club seems to me to be one of the wierdest.

Bill Shatner's DVD club

Still I guess being a cult legend takes a strange turn at some point in your life (if you haven’t heard any of his music you should!) and every opportunity that is offered to you to make cash has got to be worth listening to whilst being sued over equine excretions.

George Dubya in a world of bubblesIt is rare that an emailed link actually interests me nowadays. Mostly they are good luck wishes promising me eternal fertility should I pass it on to 20 people, and that my manhood will wither and die should I stick the email straight in to my recycle bin.

However this one, a bizarrely hypnotic rag doll of George W Bush falling through an infinite sky of bubbles kept me rapt for some considerable time. It’s like a modern lava lamp that perhaps has some political satire relating to puppet leaders. Either that or the creator is bonkers and I’m thinking about it all too much.

Anyways check it out here:

You will need flash installed, and believe me it is worth getting to watch this oddity. Should George come to rest, pull him with your mouse and he is off again.

I’m currently re-working the hatson.com website on a new server, using a different content manager. Previously I’ve used drupal, a pretty nice php system, but looks-wise it’s pretty simple. The new site uses joomla, a much prettier system not unlike dotnetnuke that we use for the corporate website.

It is starting to come together, and it has more functionality to let the family use it as a useful portal for photographs etc, and even lets me cache RSS feeds so I can read my favourite website information that is usually hidden behind the wall that is the company’s surf nazi.

Mwahahahahaa!!

Seems that it only likes text only emails, but I think that I can handle that…

Nice.
