Whoa just watched the season 2 finale of Battlestar Galactica, could this show get any better? The arrival of Pegasus has taken the whole story up a notch - where are the Cylons? They don’t need them with all of that going on! My only complaint is that the series just isn’t long enough, and finishing the season on a cliffhanger like that is just damn mean.So my copy of Matthew Reilly’s Hell Island arrived this morning, only a novella and some might say expensive at a tenner but as its only available in Oz I’m happy, and Scarecrow and his maghook should give some welcome relief from Woken Furies which, for some reason, I’m struggling to get in to. Love the previous two Kovacs novels, so perhaps I’m getting a little squeamish in my old age.Goldie Lookin’ Chain eh? My latest album purchase is their Safe As F&%k album, and on first listen it’s as genius as the first one. My favourite so far is HRT, a song lamenting that smoking too much ‘waccy baccy’ (as us olds call it) can result in a sex change. Respect to them for using the Grange Hill tune on “Charm School”, for the record my missus hates GLC with a passion (probably because I played “Your Mother’s Got A Penis” to death), but not realising the originators, I caught her dancing on the landing to this fine tune, until I pointed out who was singing. Ok so it’s not funny in writing, but at the time, well, you had to be there. Be sure check out their podcasts, available on iTunes, be careful not to be driving when listen to them, last week’s nearly sent me in to the M6 central reservation.Saw Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy on DVD at the weekend. I love the books (particularly the first 3, after that they tail off badly in my opinion). I thoroughly enjoyed the film because:a) it had the same “feel” to it as the BBC showb)Tim from the Office was excellent as Arthur

c) Loads of references to the original show, ie the original marvin, the bloke who played arthur, and, er I’m sure there were more

d) Marvin was great

e) The changes to the story didn’t suck all that much

f) It retained its innate britishness

g) The animations from the book were superb

Looking at imdb it seems to have done ok, $100m worldwide at the boxoffice, I would guess it will sell well on DVD, but I’m guessing that the demand isn’t going to be there for another one. Pity because I thought that they did a good job.

Right better get off now, just downloaded iTunes 5.0.1 and I have several thousand mp3s to find the lyrics for…
